Diabetic nephropathy is a major microvascular complication. The estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) indicates how well your kidneys are filtering waste. This tool uses the CKD-EPI 2021 equation (which removes the race variable).

Why It Matters

Many diabetes medications, particularly Metformin, must be dose-adjusted or discontinued if eGFR drops below certain thresholds to prevent lactic acidosis. Annual screening is critical.
